Look what I found the other day:

Only Pippa Middleton looks uber-flattering in race photos. I just look like a beetroot on the run.
With everything falling into place and becoming routine I’m finally back in my healthy eating / being active mode. Not that I lived on junk food for the last few months but my healthy lifestyle definitely took a backseat (for my standards).
Here’s what I’m doing now:
^^ 4 weekly runs
^^ 2 yoga classes
^^2 other classes (either rebounding, pilates and/or kettlebell depending on my mood)
It looks like much but it isn’t. I have a full-time desk job and I’d go insane if I couldn’t move in my free-time. That being said there’s nothing I enjoy more than coming back home after a run, taking a shower and cuddling up in bed with a cup of tea and an episode of The West Wing to watch.
Everything in moderation. And anyway, if someone asks me to go to the pub after work I certainly won’t say no, even if I miss a workout.
Anyway… This week’s runs have been quite eventful so far.
Tuesday: 4 miles with running club. I forgot my socks so - being the smart kid that I am - I ran bare-feet but with shoes on. Ended with massive blisters.
Wednesday: 3+ miles interval training with running club. Blistered. Hurt. And then it started to pour down and within minutes we looked like we had a bath with our clothes on. Didn’t help blisters.
Thursday: AM 4miler with running club. Got up and swore a bit as walking hurt. Contemplated bailing but went anyway. Run was surprisingly good. Still blistered (unfortunately they didn’t magically disappear).
So what do you do when you’ve got blisters?
Apparently there are special plasters or something but I’ve never used them before. Mostly, well… usually, I just let them be and heal “naturally”.
