Last week we decided to play tourists and go to Madame Tussauds. Well it was much more fun when I was younger but it was entertaining nevertheless. I just think it’s WAY too expensive. But anyway..

R-Patz had his own room and glittery background. This was one of the few moments when he wasn’t surrounded by girls.

Erm.. That trainer dude whose name I forgot (don’t throw stones at me!). Camilla likes him. Obviously.

BORIS! Gosh I miss his columns. Makes me want to buy the Daily Telegraph on Mondays only for his piece. (Mental note to myself: Got to check if they are on the homepage instead.. don’t want to spend money on the Daily Telegraph – I’m in the Guardian camp!)

Yeah and then I almost died. But then I did some impressive Taekwon-Do moves and made Hulk cry. Ha! Take that!

Trail Running Love

Category : London, Running

There is one thing you should not do on a Sunday morning after 3.5 hrs (Friday-Saturday) and 5.5 hrs (Saturday-Sunday) of sleep and no training whatsoever: run a race.

I did it anyway, since I’m clearly lacking common sense. To my surprise it was the best race I’ve ever run.

When I was younger I went on runs with my dad through the woods near our home. I loved it. The smell of the trees and all the sounds.. they made (and still make) me feel absolutely at home. And also, I just love(d) running on dirty paths and uneven ground. It keeps you alert and makes time fly by.

So yesterday I ran my first trail run and I fell in love. We actually wanted to run another 10km race but that one was quite hilly and 3 laps (I hate it when there is more than 1 lap) so we did some research and stumbled upon the Trent Park Triffic Trail Race. The weather was absolutely amazing (summer popped by and said hello – with 30°C!) and the course was challenging but brilliant.

I even made it out alive with 59something minutes. I was quite proud considering that I didn’t train at all and don’t run that much (2 times a week – ish..) these days.

Camilla was the second fastest woman! (42min – crazy!!). She’s actually a track runner (800 and 1500 meters) and has never done a trail run before. Impressive!!

I just love London for all its parks! While we were running through the woods it felt completely surreal (“Oh my goodness.. this is still London!”. Despite the fact that I love the city, I’m a country girl at heart.

I might run another race next weekend. Some dude gave us a flyer of one (5 miles this time) so we’ll see..

Folks! Have I told you how much I miss you? If not: I miss you. Terribly. Incredibly. Very very much. (times 103489348)

But let’s not get sappy.

I currently live in a terrible rat-hole but I got the keys for the flat today so I might move some of my stuff to my room on Friday so that I don’t have that much to do come Saturday (when I officially move in). Other than that things are pretty calm as I will start working on the 30th and have an entire week off left. Anyone care to visit? ;)

But I’ve got some really exciting stuff planned. You all know me, after a couple of days of being a lazy bum I can’t sit still. So I have all sorts of stuff lined up.. first of all: A race! I know, I know.. I’m probably going to kill myself (it’s a 10k) but I decided to take it easy and see how it goes. It definitely won’t be about time. Though, on a second thought, I really don’t want to be slower than 1hr.. haha. Camilla, my runner friend, will run the race as well but we obviously won’t run it together as she’s as fast as the wind. We’ll sign up this afternoon so I hope things work out well. (But oh hell, it’s a hilly course. What the heck did I get myself into again???)

So ok, I’ll stop rambling now and share some pictures of Bournemouth with you. What an amazing weekend!!

You know, I tried these wedges on for fun because they were insanely high but they turned out to be rather comfy and nice so I decided to get them. I wouldn’t recommend surfing in them though.

Appropriate behaviour. (The carousel wasn’t working and we didn’t hurt anything/anybody and definitely no horses)

AWWWW! Tommaso and a pretty lady. Did you know that Bournemouth is famous for stag/hen nights? It was quite wild (I felt like we were the only people not dressed as sluts..)

On Sunday there was a race! Camilla was a bit peed off that she couldn’t participate. Sigh. ;)

On the way to the train station we passed this church.. which is actually a nightclub!! And then I remembered my dad telling me a story about a club that was a church before and wondered if it’s that one.. After all my ma & pa went to school close to Bournemouth (they met there.. awww.. and ended up with me and Sel.. double awwwww!!). So.. is it that one? Apparently –back in the day- some dude stumbled out of it with bleeding ears. That’s how loud it was. Oh those 80ies party people!! We’re much more reasonable nowadays.

Time To Celebrate!

Yo!

I’m on a roll, I’m telling you.. A few minutes ago my contact of the job agency called me and told me that I got a job! (Yes, I’ve stopped dancing around by now). It’s a PA position for a superbe company and I’m really looking forward to getting started. I actually had the second interview only this afternoon and basically it was just a chat with the boss. I think he talked more than I did.
Also, the exam went quite smoothly.. But the bad thing is that whenever I feel that an exam’s easy I completely fail. So we’ll wait and see (until the end of July.. sigh..).

So it seems that Made In Chelsea hasn’t fried my brain yet. What a surprise!

What else?

Well it’s definitely one of the more eventful weekends.. I have to move out (which I halfway already did) and then spend a week at a (probably quite shabby) hostel. But tomorrow we’ll head to Bournemouth until Sunday so that’s all lovely.

Anyway, I’m going to yoga now and then hopefully pop by the pub.

Hope you’ll have a lovely weekend as well!!

Love, k xx

I need a coffee. Oh and a pen because I lost all the ones that I’ve got.

See ya in a bit!

What did people do before there was Skype? I mean.. of course I love letters (as in: proper, handwritten ones) but Skype is so much more convenient.

IMG_0787

The only thing is.. my parents just discovered the camera. And always (always!) made faces. Even when I was telling them some serious (though ridiculous) stuff about a job interview.

IMG_0790

I wonder if we really are related… since I’m all serious. And stuff.

Anyway, I had a speaking exam yesterday and then an interview and then an other interview today so as soon as I got back home (at 4pm) I ran to the fridge and grabbed a beer. Thank god for the weekend! The exam and today’s interview went great but yesterday’s (interview) was so ridiculous.. I might have to dedicate an entire post to that.

So right now I’m sipping some cool Stella and chatting with my amazing friend PJ on Facebook. We’re currently exchanging book tips. Muahahahaha.

Q: Got any good books that you could recommend? If you haven’t read it yet; go and read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins RIGHT NOW! I mean it. Drop everything and run to the next bookstore. You won’t be sorry.

Inked.

Have I ever mentioned that I have a tattoo?

No?

Oh well..

IMG_0785

I got one in El Salvador and never really told anyone –apart from my fam- (because in the end it’s only a tattoo..) but I know that certain friends will react like: “OH MY F…ING GOD YOU HAVE A TATTOO????”.

Relax. It’s not like I got a boob job.

You know what my mum said?

“It could be worse”.

And she hates hates HATES tattoos. (In case you didn’t know: In Japan tattoos are pretty common among the mafia.) It must be love then. haha.

What graces my wrinkly foot now is a combination of the OM sign and Ganesha. And I love it.

Days Like These

If your friends are out for a drink and you’re curled up on your bed, sobbing, then something’s not the way it’s supposed to be.

You have new friends, you are not supposed to feel so utterly lonely.

You are happy and yet you’re crying.

The tears flow until you feel you’re completely empty. And then you receive a text message from your sister, saying that she’s proud of you and that you’re the best and that she misses you.. and the tears start flowing again. And you would give everything for a hug.

And yet you know how silly the crying is. How irrational. How weird.

And after a while you lay still and calm down. And then you get better.

Because in the end of the day it was you who made the choice to move to an other country, to juggle everything on your own. But you realise that you never really are alone. You have your family. Your friends. And even if they’re not here they are here.

And you get up and face the day. Content. Because you know that you chose to go that path on your own. And you have to take the good with the bad. And you’re OK because you know that even though life is sometimes scary and lonely, you will always have people around you who love you. No matter what.
