One Afternoon In Zurich
Hello everyone!
I’m currently blogging from my parent’s place. It’s my grandpa’s 75th birthday and Selina and I came here to make a cake for him first. There are no photos of this process because it was a huge chaos. Mum, Selina and I in one kitchen is no good idea.
There was a huge agar-agar/gelatin discussion going on and I kind of forgot my camera. I’ll snap a picture of the result though
.
Anyway, yesterday flew by in a blur. First I went to the 10am bodypump class and afterwards straight to get my eyesight tested (”you should really wear your glasses” yes thank you). I then rushed to Silvio’s place, dropped off my pump stuff and made sandwiches for on the road. I love travelling by train, especially with great company.
One hour later we were in Zurich. I actually don’t like the city very much (that accent!
) but it’s nice for shopping.
Bern’s so much prettier!
I wasn’t really in a shopping mood but we got two scarves, two pullovers and one pair of trousers for Silvio which was kind of a world wonder because that guy never shops.
I didn’t get home empty handed though. I bought a new muffins & cupcakes book. Hooray!
After lots of walking and shopping we headed to my favourite place in Zurich.
It’s such a fantastic restaurant. If you ever happen to go to Zurich: Eat at Hiltl. It was the first vegetarian restaurant in Europe which I think is pretty cool. Their menus are always fresh and delicious plus they have seasonal menus as well.
We had the best time ever!
Just kidding. The food was great though. (The company too, not that you’d get a wrong idea
)
I had the pumpkin ratatouille with spinach pasta
(Sorry for the lightning, I didn’t want to use flash)
The interior of the restaurant is really pretty as well. Lots of little beautiful details.
I always eat at Hiltl when I go to Zurich. It’s just so nice to know that I can order anything from the menu without worrying about what could contain meat.
We didn’t have much time for a relaxed dinner because we wanted to go to a friend’s concert (in Bern). But we did have time to go to Sprüngli, which is a big confectionery in Zurich.
They’re pretty famous for their “Luxemburgerlis”
Of course I had to get some even though I had to pay and arm and a leg for them but they are so worth it!
They’re brilliant.
I just realized that the two things I like the most about Zurich are both food related (Hiltl and Luxemburgerlis). I am such a foodie.
Ok, I’m off to my grandpa’s place now. Have a great sunday!

that veggie restaurant looks so cool… and those Luxemburgerlis so delish xxx
beautiful looking dinner! I hope you had a great time with family!
I love Hiltl as well, it’s almost a daily battle not to go there every day for lunch! If you like Luxemburgerlis, did you know that Ladurée has a shop in ZH as well? Their macarons are even better than Sprüngli’s I find.
I honestly have never heard of Ladurée but I need to check them out the next time I go to Zurich.
I’m glad that we have the tibits in Bern – this way we still get some awesome Hiltl food over here
